The ideal scenario for learning Wing Chun is a combination of group and private training. Each has particular benefits; group classes give a student exposure to several different training partners of varying skill levels, ages and sizes. This helps to develop adaptability in your movement. Private training provides individually focused one on one training that lends itself to a more personalized approach to the student's training goals as well as a much greater level of nuance to the details and a deeper understanding of the principles and philosophy behind the system. Some students elect to train exclusively in a one on one environment . It may be due to schedule conflicts with the group classes, convenience or simply maintaining their privacy.
